Endless boards, two sizes
Most versions of Queens hand you one puzzle a day and stop. Here the puzzles are generated on demand, so New always has another one ready. Play one, play twenty — nothing runs out and nothing asks you to wait until tomorrow.
The buttons above the grid switch size. 7×7 keeps the whole board in view and is the place to learn the crown-and-cross rhythm. 8×8 adds a region and more awkward shapes, so the squeeze-the-region and no-touch deductions chain further before the board resolves.
The rules, and the three moves that solve most boards
The rules are three lines: one crown per row and column; one crown per coloured region; and no two crowns adjacent, including diagonally.
Squeeze the region. If a colour region only touches two rows, those two rows have their crowns spoken for — every other region must look elsewhere. Cross out the halo. Every crown you place kills the eight cells around it, which often leaves a region with a single legal cell. Count what is left. When a row has just one uncrossed cell, that is a crown, and the chain starts again.
Where Queens came from — and what else to play
The puzzle is a modern take on the classic “eight queens” problem — placing chess queens so none attack each other — with coloured regions and a no-diagonal-touch rule added to turn it into a solvable daily-sized deduction. LinkedIn’s version made the format popular; the generator here produces the same style of board.
