How to play Minesweeper
Minesweeper is deduction, not luck: every number is a fact about its eight neighbours, and combining facts clears the field. If a “1” already touches one flag, its other neighbours are all safe. If a “3” touches exactly three hidden squares, all three are mines. Work the border between opened and hidden squares, flag what’s forced, and open what’s proven safe.
Two habits speed everything up: start from the big openings (a zero clears its whole neighbourhood automatically), and chord — once a number has the right count of flags around it, tapping the number opens every other neighbour in one go.
Classic rules, modern board
This is the classic Windows-style game with the sharp edges rounded off: your first tap is never a mine (it always opens an area, so no blind first-click losses), a 🚩 toggle makes flagging comfortable on a phone, and a wrong-flag marker shows what went astray after a loss. Reset replays the exact same minefield — good for learning from a blown board — while New deals a fresh one.
The daily board is shared: everyone who plays it gets the identical minefield that day, like our daily Sudoku and shikaku of the day.

Is Minesweeper solvable without guessing?
Mostly — and good technique pushes “mostly” a long way. Classic random minefields can occasionally corner you in a 50/50, but the majority of positions fall to pure logic: counting, subtracting overlapping number constraints, and using the total mine count late in the game. When a true coin-flip does appear, the mine counter is your tiebreaker — pick the reading that leaves the numbers consistent with the mines remaining. Winning a board start to finish on logic alone is the real satisfaction of the game.
